The PPDM Association Board Responds to Member Education Needs

The PPDM Association has delivered educational offerings to its members for many years. The success of these courses, combined with an education deficit for petroleum data managers, has led to a membership demand for more extensive programming and accreditation options. The PPDM Association is pleased to report that the Board of Directors has responded to this demand through the approval of the Petroleum Education Task Force Charter.

The Petroleum Education Task Force (PETF) was formed in April, 2011, with the primary goal of aiding in the development of the PPDM Association education program. We're happy to report the task force has made great progress over the past six months with the development of a DACUM (Developing a Curriculum) for entry level petroleum data management roles. The group will continue their work until all roles have been analyzed. In addition, the task force will be involved in audits of existing curriculum (external to PPDM), subject matter expert recruitment, program marketing and many other aspects of education program development at the Association.
