Wellbore

Definition
A Wellbore is a path of drilled footage, from the Well Origin (top/start) to a terminating point (bottom/end).
Illustrations may be viewed in an interactive tool here (http://www.WhatIsAWell.org)
Clarification
There are one or more Wellbores in a planned or drilled Well, namely the original Wellbore, and a Wellbore for each intended, actual or accidental sidetrack. Deepening of an existing wellbore or widening of an existing wellbore does not constitute a new/separate wellbore.
Wellbore in the PPDM Data Model
Wellbores are loaded in the WELL table, with WELL_LEVEL_TYPE = 'Wellbore'. Create relationships between the wellbore and other well components in the WELL_XREF table.
A high level mapping of well components and PPDM 3.8 is shown in the attachment.
