Definition

A Well Set is the group of Well components required to maintain an end to end link through all stages of the well life cycle (planning to reclamation).

Illustrations may be viewed in an interactive tool here (http://www.WhatIsAWell.org)

Clarification

A Well Set created for a planned or proposed well will contain these components - one well and its well origin. A planned or proposed Well Set may contain one or more Wellbores. A Well Set created for a drilled well will include the well, its well origin and all of the well components. A Well Set created for a drilled well may also include a well and well origin for any connected wells drilled for the purpose of relief or service specific to its operation.

How would this component be used?

Why is it defined as a separate entity? This grouping is most frequently used for well planning, reservoir analysis, data aggregation and regulatory compliance.
