Delay Rental

"An amount paid for the privilege of deferring development of the property and which could have been avoided by abandonment of the lease, or by commencement of development operations, or by obtaining production." The sum of money payable to the lessor by the lessee for the privilege or deferring the commencement of drilling operations or the commencement of production during the primary term of the lease. Generally should be based on the gross amount of acres covered under the oil and gas lease.
