A reference point representing a horizontal position defined during the binning process. (Seismic traces are associated with the bin node, not the bin.) In 3D seismic the bin nodes normally define a regular, orthogonal grid. In 2D seismic, the bin nodes represent a linear set of ground locations with which a final stacked or migrated trace will be associated. Also referred to as: a CDP or CMP location.
