Project Description
The Prospects and Plays work group will seek to draw together several existing subject areas in PPDM and create some new modules that will allow member companies to track prospect and play information in PPDM. At this time, the project is targeting release in PPDM 3.9. However, if the work groups identify an urgent need for the modules, it may be feasible to rapid track the workgroup by holding a series of longer focus meetings.
Objectives and Vision
The concept of prospects and plays brings geoscience technical disciplines to their objectives – the creation and development of viable drilling prospects. Added to PPDM, this methodology will support consistency in the way prospects and plays are described by industry.
Benefits
The PPDM Association uses a round table approach to model definition that will allow international member companies from all business sectors to collaboratively describe a method for storing and managing Prospect and Play information. Currently, this information is often held in proprietary applications that are poorly integrated with the rest of a company’s E&P data.
