Data Exchange
The Data Exchange Project is designed to facilitate interoperability between businesses within the energy industry to the business community in general. Specifically, the project addresses the tremendous need for simple and open standards for exchanging data over the Internet. Through this initiative, the Association provides a simple and inexpensive solution to what previously has been a complex and expensive proposition. The PPDM Association has developed XML schema pertaining to Business Associate data, Well headers and directional surveys, Work Orders, Products and Information, Seismic Summary, and Seismic Processing data. Several supporting schema have also been developed.
GML
In the past few years, GML has evolved into a powerful and widely accepted cross-industry standard. The PPDM Association proposes an initiative to create a GML compliant supplement to the current array of PPDM XML spatial schema components. The modified standards will leverage the current GML specification (3.0), other XML technologies and will build upon the results of other data exchange standards created by the PPDM Association.
