Data Architect E&P Qualifications
- Highly experienced in "Enterprise Level" or "Common Shared" or "Enterprise (multi-subject area) Data Warehouse" Data Modeling skills.
- Experience in the E&P industry. They need to know what a well and a borehole are, the components of a well log and how production data is collected and stored. Knowledge of key E&P technical applications and all the associated complexity of the technical data.
- Ability to think strategically and make sound decisions around the level of abstraction and generality of the model
- Experience in developing multi-layered or tiered models that ensure isolation and aid evolution and adaptability.
- Knowledge of PPDM is almost essential. The person will be converting this 3rd normal form physical model to a dimensional logical model.
- Expert at dimensional or analytical modeling, as well as 3rd-5th normal form modeling and the ability to convert from one to the other.
- Modeling in a Federated or Virtual environment. Knowledge of the complexity and compromises that need to be made to ensure that the model works from both a technical and user / business perspective.
- Ability to merge and bring together multiple conflicting models into a common canonical form.
- Prioritize issues and model conflicts and make sound decisions around resolution.
- ERWin or Embarcadero ER/Studio.
- Experienced in JAD sessions or other requirements gathering techniques specifically aimed at data modeling deliverables including: Data Requirements Document, Data Model Standards and Best Practices, User / Consumer Views, Common or Canonical Models, Business Rules, Relationships resolution, logical and physical hierarchy modeling, Mapping Management, Test Cases.
- Experienced in model change management for complex shared rapidly-changing models
- Managing diverse stakeholders to reach a formal approval of modeling deliverables.
- Keeping a number of different groups informed of the data modeling status, version changes and outputs of the project.
- Work well with the development team to ensure all model defects are appropriately corrected and implemented
