PPDM List Server PoliciesAbout the List ServersThe PPDM Association List servers are used to facilitate communication between members of the Association and between the Association and its members. Participation on the PPDM list servers is open to members of the PPDM Association at their discretion. Certain list servers (such as info-l) are open to the general public. You must be subscribed to a list in order to send email to the list. Information list servers (such as Masterlist-l and info-l) only accept postings from specified individuals, such as PPDM Association staff. Email Address Privacy PolicyAny email address that is added to a list server hosted by PPDM Association remains the property of the email address owner. PPDM Association email lists are kept in one location and are password protected. All requests to be added to a list server are approved by the list server administrator. The PPDM Association will not sell, license, distribute, disclose or otherwise use any participant’s email address or other contact information for non-PPDM services without that participant’s express permission to do so. The PPDM Association does not send spam mail, and does not solicit unnecessary information from its members. We will not ask for personal information about you, credit card information or other financial information without your express consent for a specific purpose (such as membership or conference fees). Spoofing PolicyEmail spoofing causes a user to receive an email that appears to have originated from one source when it was actually sent from another source. The spoof email source is out of the control of the legitimate owner of an email address. Spoof email may be used to send spam or to solicit information from the recipient. If you think you have received an inappropriate email from the PPDM Association, check the detailed routing information in the email header to determine if it originated at the PPDM Association’s domain (www.ppdm.org). You may also forward the email to us at info@ppdm.org so we can review it. Please do not respond to any suspect email unless we confirm that the email is legitimate. Spamming PolicySpam email is used to market various products and services through broadcasting. The PPDM Association does not endorse spamming, and has taken steps to protect our members from receiving spam through our list servers. PPDM Association list server users may not use the system to send unsolicited emails (SPAM) for any purpose commercial or non-commercial. An email will be considered spam if the contents of the email message are not directly related to the business purpose of the list server. All posts to The PPDM Association’s list servers are read and individually approved by the list administrator before they are released. Inappropriate postings are discarded and not sent to the list’s subscribers. If you are a list server member and feel that you have received unsolicited email, please contact The PPDM Association at info@ppdm.org. Prohibited ContentThe PPDM Association list servers are not to be used for the creation or distribution of any offensive, or disruptive messages, including messages containing offensive comments about race, gender, age, sexual orientation, pornography, religious or political beliefs, national origin or disability. Users who receive any emails with this content should report the matter to The PPDM Association. Unlawful messages, such as copyright infringing emails are also prohibited. Users deemed in violation of these rules may be removed from the list server. Undeliverable (Bounced) Mail PolicyThe list server attempts to send each message to each list server member. During the attempted delivery of the message, the receiving email server may report a permanent error with the recipient's email address (for example, "user unknown", "addressee unknown", "mailbox unavailable", etc.). Any email address with a permanent error is subject to removal by the list server administrator. An email address that was removed due to a permanent error may be re-subscribed to the list if the email address owner re-subscribes. |
