PPDM AND POSC JOINTLY RELEASE REFERENCE DATAStandards organizations publish initial set of oil and gas industry reference dataCALGARY and HOUSTON, October 24, 2000 -- The PPDM Association and POSC today jointly announce the release of results of the Reference Values Pilot Project. This Pilot addressed the development of standard populations of reference tables, beginning with six (6) reference tables to evaluate feasibility and establish a methodology for a full-scale project. These initial reference tables are:
The objective of both standards organizations, the PPDM Association and POSC, is to make these reference tables available to the entire industry. As acceptance grows through additional implementations, the transfer of data will become increasingly efficient and accurate. Please make this information available to your entire organization and to your peers in other companies. The results of the Pilot Project are available at the following websites: As a follow on to this pilot, and in order to incorporate other industry-specific reference data sets, to ensure the continued development of new reference tables, and to maintain existing tables, the PPDM Association is presently preparing a detailed Business Plan. The results of this Business Plan will dictate the scope of the continuing project. The PPDM Association and POSC will continue to work together to further reference value standardization within the industry.
